Sin (2/6)

Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!
If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.”
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you!Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.
When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin. When he realizes his guilt in any of these and confesses the sin he has committed, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation for the sin that he has committed.
There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.
Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. We have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules.
Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.If anyone sins, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, though he did not know it, then realizes his guilt, he shall bear his iniquity.

But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
