It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling.
It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling.It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
Since any fool can start a quarrel. Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor;
only fools insist on quarreling. It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. Avoiding strife is an honor for a person,
But any fool will quarrel. It is honorable to avoid strife,
but every fool is quarrelsome. I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world. Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh,
and whose confidence is in Yahweh.
For he will be as a tree planted by the waters,
who spreads out its roots by the river,
and will not fear when heat comes,
but its leaf will be green,
and will not be concerned in the year of drought.
It won’t cease from yielding fruit.Next verse!With image
