Evangelism (2/2)

For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
And every day in the temple and at home they did not cease to teach and proclaim Jesus as the Messiah. And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: “Jesus is the Messiah.”
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.”Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
For we are God's servants, working together; you are God's field, God's building. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.
Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I; send me!”Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
To this day I have had help from God, and so I stand here, testifying to both small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would take place: that the Messiah must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles. But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house.I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.
Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father. So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father.
Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

Bible verse of the day

You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder.
