| Nevertheless in Your great mercy You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, gracious and merciful. | But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God. |

| And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. | In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. |
