Hebrews 4 - NLT & NRSV

So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall through such disobedience as theirs.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin.
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Bible verse of the day

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
