| From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so. | And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! |
| Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom. | If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. |

| And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace. | And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. |
