I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. | I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you. |
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. | Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. |
This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. | He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone. |
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. | If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. |
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. | While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!” |
Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. | You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’; and you are correct, for so I am. |
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. | You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. | And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. | Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am going to be with you, and then I am going to Him who sent Me.” |
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. | If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. |
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. | I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. |
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. | Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to reward each one as his work deserves. |
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. | For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. |
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. | He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. |
