Proverbs 13 - ESV & NRSV

Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives; those who open wide their lips come to ruin.
The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.Wealth is a ransom for a person's life, but the poor get no threats.
By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.By insolence the heedless make strife, but wisdom is with those who take advice.
Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle, but those who gather little by little will increase it.
