Proverbs 13 - NASB & NKJV

One who guards his mouth protects his life; One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
The ransom of a person’s life is his wealth, But the poor hears no rebuke.The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, But the poor does not hear rebuke.
Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.
Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles, But one who gathers by labor increases it.Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labor will increase.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
One who walks with wise people will be wise, But a companion of fools will suffer harm.He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.
