Proverbs 13 - NIV & NKJV

Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, But the poor does not hear rebuke.
Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.
Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labor will increase.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.
