Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? | The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? |
Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident. | Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. |
One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple. | The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. |
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. | Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. |
Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. | Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. |

Bible verse of the day
Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,“Behold, the virgin shall be with child,
and shall give birth to a son.
They shall call his name Immanuel,”
which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”
