You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law. Galatians 2:15-16	We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law. faith law
For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. Romans 3:20	For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. sin law
Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 2 Corinthians 9:10	He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. food giving generosity
Riches won’t help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death. Proverbs 11:4	Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. money materialism punishment
Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. 1 John 3:4	Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. sin law
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. Proverbs 10:28	The hope of the righteous ends in gladness, but the expectation of the wicked comes to nothing. hope patience joy
The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. Proverbs 10:20	The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the mind of the wicked is of little worth. valuable speaking
Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. Habakkuk 2:4	Look at the proud! Their spirit is not right in them, but the righteous live by their faith. life reliability faith
For we will be counted as righteous when we obey all the commands the Lord our God has given us. Deuteronomy 6:25	If we diligently observe this entire commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, we will be in the right. obedience law
Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. Isaiah 26:8	In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and your renown are the soul's desire. law desires
God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? James 4:12	There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor? law judgment salvation
The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers. Psalm 37:21	The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous are generous and keep giving. debt money giving
He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return.
