For Christ is the fulfillment of the Law for the justification of all who believe. | For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. |
If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. | If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. |
For one believes in the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. | For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. |
As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” | As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” |
Indeed, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” | For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” |
So then, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. | So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. |
