Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.
It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him.This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with him, we will also live with him.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment.
There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.
Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Who will render to every man according to his deeds.He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching.
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.
For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock?
The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up.
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
