| The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. | The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. |
| Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. | The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction. |
| Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.” | What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” |
| Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. | For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. |

| Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. | Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. |
| Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. | Some praise their chariots and some their horses, But we will praise the name of the Lord, our God. |
| Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood— may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. | Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, that is, Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. | Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ | The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ |
| Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made. | Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out with his hand, and take fruit also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. |
| That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. | The conclusion, when everything has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. |
| So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. | While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. |

| Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. | Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. |
| Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. | In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. |
| May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. | Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another, according to Christ Jesus. |
| Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did? | Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he? |
| He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. | In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace. |
| For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. | Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. |
| Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. | Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. |
