But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”But he answered, “It is written, ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.For if they fall, one will lift up the other; but woe to one who is alone and falls and does not have another to help.
Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one.
So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
