| Each person should give as much as he has decided in his heart, not with reluctance or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. | So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. |
| Therefore, take care to live as intelligent people, and do not be like those who are senseless. Make the most of the present time, for this is a wicked age. | See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. |

| For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another. | For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. |
| Therefore, strive to be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect. | Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. |
| The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up.
