Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend. He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
