You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. | Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. |
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” | So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. |

Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. | If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. |
Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet? | Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? |

No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. | For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. |
Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? | Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? |
You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. | There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. |

I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him? | My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? |
Giving a gift can open doors; it gives access to important people! | A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. |
Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. | Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near. |
You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. | And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. |
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. | Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. |
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. | And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. |
