We have come to know and to believe in the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
This is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’
It was for this purpose that he called you through our gospel so that you might come to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
All I want is to come to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share in his sufferings by becoming conformed to his death.I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.

Jesus answered, “As it is written: ‘Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’ ”Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth before the bad times come and the years draw near when you will say, “I take no pleasure in them”.Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”.
Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
The love of the Lord is never exhausted, nor do his deeds of mercy ever come to an end. They are renewed every morning; his faithfulness never ceases.Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Who among you is wise and understanding? Prove by your good life that your works are done with the humility that comes from wisdom.Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
The Lord will become king over the whole earth. When that day comes, he will be the only Lord, and his name will be the only name.The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.

Behold, I am standing at the door, knocking. If one of you hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with that person and that person with me.Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
