Don’t (2/4)

“Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)So He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?”
My son, obey your father’s commands, and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. My son, keep your father’s command, And do not forsake the law of your mother.
Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you!Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.
Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!“For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”

And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.
But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.
For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’
When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me.Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord; Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.
Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?

So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost.It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy, And afterward to reconsider his vows.
Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
