Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” | So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be to you; just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” |
Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. | “Return to Me,” declares the Lord of armies, “that I may return to you,” says the Lord of armies. |
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded. | To You, God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, For You have given me wisdom and power; Even now You have made known to me what we requested of You, For You have made known to us the king’s matter. |
Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” | Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you now believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.” |
I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ | And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’ |
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. | I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. |
Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me. | You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves. |
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. | When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul. |
But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. | The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life. |
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. | The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your faithfulness, Lord, is everlasting; Do not abandon the works of Your hands. |
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me. | But I have trusted in Your faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, Because He has looked after me. |
I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me. | Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me. |
Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. | Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know. |
Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people. | Rescue my soul, Lord, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue. |
But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.” | Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am going to be with you, and then I am going to Him who sent Me.” |
I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? | In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? |
But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me. | As they had their pasture, they became satisfied, And as they became satisfied, their heart became proud; Therefore they forgot Me. |
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” | So that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” |
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” | Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” |

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. | As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to keep many people alive. |
If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him! | If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him. |
As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died. | But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. | Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to reward each one as his work deserves. |
But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! | If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. |
