The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet. | The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, And the Lord will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ | He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone. |
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. | For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. |
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. | And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. |
But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. | Behold, happy is the person whom God disciplines, So do not reject the discipline of the Almighty. |
But the one who endures to the end will be saved. | But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. |
The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! | For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. |
Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. | Being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. |
But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth. | The face of the Lord is against evildoers, To eliminate the memory of them from the earth. |
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. | For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. |
Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. | But the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. |
I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me? | Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me? |

The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. | The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears are toward their cry for help. |
Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children. | Grandchildren are the crown of the old, And the glory of sons is their fathers. |
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. | One who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will lodge in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” |
