Bible Verses about 'Foot'

I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.When I thought, “My foot is slipping,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I shall come out like gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.
But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King. But I say to you, Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! He will again have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.Keep my steps steady according to your promise, and never let iniquity have dominion over me.
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not make room for the devil.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good spirit lead me on a level path.
You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.
Keep the Sabbath day holy. Don’t pursue your own interests on that day, but enjoy the Sabbath and speak of it with delight as the Lord’s holy day. Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day, and don’t follow your own desires or talk idly. Then the Lord will be your delight. I will give you great honor and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob. I, the Lord, have spoken! If you refrain from trampling the sabbath, from pursuing your own interests on my holy day; if you call the sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, serving your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs; then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Jacob, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but one who has a hasty temper exalts folly.

Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling. It is honorable to refrain from strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.Words spoken by the wise bring them favor, but the lips of fools consume them.
Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating.A fool's lips bring strife, and a fool's mouth invites a flogging.
Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.
The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces. The wise of heart will heed commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.
Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing personal opinion.

Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool.Lying lips conceal hatred, and whoever utters slander is a fool.
