For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
Those who withhold kindness from a friend forsake the fear of the Almighty.One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty.
Put to death, therefore, whatever in you is earthly: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry).So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
Let marriage be held in honor by all, and let the marriage bed be kept undefiled; for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.
Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.

He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”

He said, “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”“All right then,” Joshua said, “destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
