Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out. | Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. |
Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. | Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. |
While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent. | So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent. |
Return, faithless Israel, says the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, says the Lord; I will not be angry forever. | ‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord; ‘I will not look at you in anger. For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord; ‘I will not be angry forever.’ |
But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. |
For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more. | For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings, And their sins I will no longer remember. |
Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God. | Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or abandon them, For You are a gracious and compassionate God. |
Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. | How blessed is he whose wrongdoing is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! |
But when he heard this, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” | But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.” |
Come now, let us argue it out, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. | “Come now, and let us debate your case,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They shall become as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool.” |

For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. |

Say to Him, “Take away all guilt And receive us graciously, So that we may present the fruit of our lips.” |
When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil ways, God changed his mind about the calamity that he had said he would bring upon them; and he did not do it. | When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way, then God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would bring on them. So He did not do it. |
