| And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. | The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.” |
| But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. | But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. |

| And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. | “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” |

| Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. | You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. |
| Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. | Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” |
| Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” |
| Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. | Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. |
| I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. | I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. |
| Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. | In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. |
| Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. | Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. |
| Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. | But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. |
| Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. | Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” |
| Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. | If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. |
| But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. | May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
| But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. | But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. | They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” |
| Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. | Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. |
| Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. | Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” |
| For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. | For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. |
| And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews. | Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews. |
| Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. |
| For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? | What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? |
| Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. | Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” |
