The Lord makes a man’s steps secure when he approves of his conduct. | A man’s steps are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. |
The tongue of the just man is like pure silver; the heart of the wicked is without worth. | The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth. |
Blessings are showered on the head of the righteous, but sorrow will cover the face of the wicked. | Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. |
The lips of the righteous utter words of kindness, but the mouth of the wicked knows only how to pervert. | The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. |

For the Lord loves the just, and he will not forsake his faithful ones. Those who follow evil paths will be destroyed, and the children of the wicked will be cut off. | For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. |
Do not envy a violent man or choose to emulate any of his ways. These are the words of the Lord of hosts: Stand at the crossroads and look around; ask for the ancient paths. When you are shown where the good way lies, walk along it and your souls will find rest. However, they said, “We will not take it.” | Yahweh says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.
