Good faith (2/4)

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established— that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
But test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.
