My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. | My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord Or loathe His rebuke, For whom the Lord loves He disciplines, Just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights. |
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. | Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. |

Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. | And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. |
May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. | May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill your whole plan! |
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us. | As he came naked from his mother’s womb, so he will return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand. |
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. | Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. He will bring out your righteousness as the light, And your judgment as the noonday. |
The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. | The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like deer’s feet, And has me walk on my high places. |
For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. | For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will glorify the lowly with salvation. |
If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? | If someone says, “I love God,” and yet he hates his brother or sister, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother and sister whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. |
So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer. | So we fasted and sought our God concerning this matter, and He listened to our pleading. |

Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure. | Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope set on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. |
And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation. | Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. |
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. | Yet as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last, He will take His stand on the earth. |
Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last. | And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I entrust My spirit.” And having said this, He died. |
