He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.
Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”
When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin.So it shall be when he becomes guilty of one of these things, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned.
I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.No one is to say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.
He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”And sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
For the Lord is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us.For the Lord is our judge, The Lord is our lawgiver, The Lord is our king; He will save us.
When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!The Lord also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased double all that Job had.
In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.And having been perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him.
When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.”
What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen for His own inheritance.
When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
And he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms. And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.
Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent.
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may take refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and wall.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world.Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth.
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time.
