| Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. | Don’t let him who eats despise him who doesn’t eat. | Giving a gift can open doors; it gives access to important people! | A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. |
| What are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? | What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? |
| God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. | As for God, his way is perfect. Yahweh’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him. |

| God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. | By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him. |
