And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
In that I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, so that you may live and become numerous, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to take possession of it.For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.
Guarding the paths of justice, And He watches over the way of His godly ones.He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.
But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold. My foot has held on to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who wait for His faithfulness.But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.
By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit.And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; All those who follow His commandments have a good understanding; His praise endures forever.Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!
Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen for His own inheritance.What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.
And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.
Praise the Lord! Blessed is a person who fears the Lord, Who greatly delights in His commandments.Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.
The Lord also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased double all that Job had.When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!
Who will repay each person according to his deeds.He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.
Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments.Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise the wife also to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise the husband also does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.
You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you.You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.
A fool always loses his temper, But a wise person holds it back.Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms. And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’And he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.
