| He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. | In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. |
| For he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. | Guarding the paths of justice, And He watches over the way of His godly ones. |

| This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. | By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit. |

| But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. | Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who wait for His faithfulness. |
| As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. | Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. |

| The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. | I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. | I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. |
| The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
