| And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. | Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. |
| Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. | Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. |

| “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.) | And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? | It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel. | It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. |

| One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. | One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. |
| When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future. | In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. |

| He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? | He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? |
| Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. | I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. | I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. |
| And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. | And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. |
| And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. |
| Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. | Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. |
| Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. | Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. |
