| So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” | So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. |
| Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? | Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? |
| A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. | Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. |
| “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” | Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. |

| What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
| How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. | Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. |

| No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. | Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. | Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. |
| Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. | Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. |
| Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. | And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. |
| And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness. | And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us. |
| For the practices of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good. | For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
