I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
“Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have. Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness. And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.
For the practices of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
