28 Bible Verses about Encouragement - NIV & KJV

But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
But they that wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
When thou passest through the waters,
I will be with thee;
and through the rivers,
they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire,
thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.
Since thou wast precious in my sight,
thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee:
therefore will I give men for thee,
and people for thy life.
Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord.
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
All hard work brings a profit,
but mere talk leads only to poverty.
In all labour there is profit:
but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands.
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;
yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
