| Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” | But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. |
| These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. | And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. |

| Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. | Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. |
| Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. | Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. |
| No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. | Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. |
| Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. | Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. |
| Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. | And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. |

| The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. |
| For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. | For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. |
| Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” | For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. |
| For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. | For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. |
