But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone. | But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. |
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. | I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. |

O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone! | Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. |
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. | I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. |
That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. | Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. |
I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. | I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. |
I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them. | And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. |
And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins. | For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. |
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. | But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. |
He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. | He must increase, but I must decrease. |
If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. | And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. |
For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. | I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. |
But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.” | Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. |
I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” | O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee. |
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. | For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. |
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. | Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. |
Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword. | Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. |
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. | Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. |
Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. | Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. |
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! | I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. |
I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust at a young woman. | I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? |
I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. |
For I have given rest to the weary and joy to the sorrowing. | For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. |
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” | I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. |
This is what I told them: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do everything as I say, and all will be well!’ | But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. |
