- But when I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you. - I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.

I will restore them because of my compassion.
It will be as though I had never rejected them,
for I am the Lord their God, who will hear their cries. - Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world. - As I learn your righteous regulations,
I will thank you by living as I should! - The Lord says,
“I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help.
I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me.
I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’
to a nation that did not call on my name.” - I have hidden your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you. - I have chosen to be faithful;
I have determined to live by your regulations. - I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there. - If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
- Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness
while I am here in the land of the living. - Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth. - I will be filled with joy because of you.
I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. - I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.
- Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. - But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise,
and I will fulfill all my vows.
For my salvation comes from the Lord alone. - I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. - O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed;
if you save me, I will be truly saved.
My praises are for you alone! - I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. - That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
- I will thank you, Lord, among all the people.
I will sing your praises among the nations. - I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.” - He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
- And I will forgive their wickedness,
and I will never again remember their sins. - Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
- I made a covenant with my eyes

I have followed his ways and not turned aside. - If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

I will praise you as long as I live,

I wait confidently for God to save me,
and my God will certainly hear me. - I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
- O Israel, my faithless people,
come home to me again,
for I am merciful.
I will not be angry with you forever. - I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
- I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever.
