- When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

to a nation that was not called by my name. - I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I set your rules before me. - I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you. - If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

hold your right hand;

I am the one who helps you.” - Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! - I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules. - But I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation belongs to the Lord! - I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah - Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
- For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
- I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living! - I have made a covenant with my eyes;

I will sing praises to you among the nations. - For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.

So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands. - Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. - I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live. - I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever. - I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
