Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” | Do not let anyone lead you astray. “Bad company corrupts good morals.” |
The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. | Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe in him already stands condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. |
You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may certainly rebuke your neighbor, but you are not to incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor hold any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord. | You shall not hate your brother in your heart, nor shall you rebuke your brother in any way, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not seek vengeance nor bear a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. |
But Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.” | Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.” |
Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not to have quarrels over opinions. | Welcome anyone whose faith is weak, but do not get into arguments about doubts. |
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. | Where can I go to hide from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to the heavens, you are there; if I take my rest in the netherworld, you are also there. |
And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. | If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the Church. And if he refuses to listen to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. |
But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it. | But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience. |
If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well. | If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. |
But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. | Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I depart. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, whereas if I go, I will send him to you. |
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? | What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
The statement is trustworthy: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him. | This saying can be trusted: If we have died with him, we shall also live with him. |
And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good. | If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing. |
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people. | As much as possible, and to the extent of your ability, live in peace with everyone. |
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” | Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?” |
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it. | Do not withhold kindness from anyone to whom it is due when it is in your power to grant it. |
And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister. | This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. |
And He said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.” | And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.” |
But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. | But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. |
For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |

For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other gods to your own ruin, then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever. | However, if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you are upright in your dealings with your neighbor; if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you do not shed innocent blood in this place; and if you do not follow other gods and thereby cause your own destruction, then I will allow you to live in this place, in the land that I gave as a permanent gift to your fathers long ago. |
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him. | If you know me, then you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him. You have seen him. |
