| You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. | Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. |
| But “he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” For it isn’t he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends. | But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. |

| For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good. | He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool. | He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. |
| Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love him. | Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. |
| He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me. | And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. |
| Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. | Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. |
| One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. | He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. |
| Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. | Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. |
| Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. | But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. |
| Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.” | Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. |
| He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God. | He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. |
| You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahweh. | Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord. |
| My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad, even mine. | My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. |
| Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |
| Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions. | Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. |
