| For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. | The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. | Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known. |
| This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here. | By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming; and now it is already in the world. |
| But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. | Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. |
| Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. | For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. |
| Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. | Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment. |
