Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.
This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment.
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed.
