John 4:18 (3/4)

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.
But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.
I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.
When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”“Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
