For whoever has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. | For everyone born of God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith. |
Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. | Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. |
I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. | I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you should also love one another. |
And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. | And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. |
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly. | A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in abundance. |
Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. | Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. |
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. | This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. |
