| The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation is on the earth. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The Lord is his name! | He who builds His layers in the sky, And has founded His strata in the earth; Who calls for the waters of the sea, And pours them out on the face of the earth— The Lord is His name. |
| You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh. | Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You. |
| If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. | For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. |
| For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. | For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. |
| Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. | Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! | Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. |
| And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? | And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? |
| Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. | Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward. | Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. |

| If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. | And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. |

| O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. | O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. |
| For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. | Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word. |
| You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” | So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. |
| Don’t long for “the good old days.” This is not wise. | Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. |
