For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard… Romans 3:23-24

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. 1 Peter 2:16	As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil. life freedom evil
Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all. 1 Corinthians 15:34	Come to a sober and right mind, and sin no more; for some people have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. righteousness sin conversion
And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:17	And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever. eternal life obedience desires
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21	For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. sin righteousness mediator
When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Mark 16:19	So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. Jesus ascension heaven
But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8	Everyone who commits sin is a child of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. sin devil
But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. 1 Corinthians 2:10	These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. God Spirit planning
I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philippians 3:14	I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. reward Jesus calling
The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20	And it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God. Titus 2:11-12	For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly. grace righteousness salvation
And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. 1 John 5:20	And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9	For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast. grace faith salvation
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. Galatians 1:10	Am I now seeking human approval, or God's approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ. obedience reward relationships
This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” Romans 1:17	For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.” faith righteousness salvation
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18	Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. joy gratitude prayer
The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. Psalm 51:17	The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. sacrifice repentance

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
