These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. | These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. |
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. | The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way. |
|
Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. | Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. |
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. | No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us. |
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference. | But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction. |
Knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust. | Realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, homosexuals, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. |
For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. | But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. |
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. | But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings; The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him, And by His wounds we are healed. |
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. | And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. |
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. | But now in Christ Jesus you who previously were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. |
Sing to the Lord, For He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth. | Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth. |
Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls. | Like a city that is broken into and without walls So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit. |
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. | For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over every ruler and authority. |
This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance. | This also comes from the Lord of armies, Who has made His counsel wonderful and His wisdom great. |
For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. | For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. |
Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. | And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. |
The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. | The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like deer’s feet, And has me walk on my high places. |
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. | And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. |
Because I delivered the poor who cried out, The fatherless and the one who had no helper. The blessing of a perishing man came upon me, And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. | Because I saved the poor who cried for help, And the orphan who had no helper. The blessing of the one who was about to perish came upon me, And I made the widow’s heart sing for joy. |
We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. | We are Jews by nature and not sinners from the Gentiles; nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified. |
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. | Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. |
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. | Because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin. |
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. | You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people. |
By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. | By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. |
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. | The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your faithfulness, Lord, is everlasting; Do not abandon the works of Your hands. |
